Flight Assignment – An overview
Flight Assignment refers to the process of scheduling the operation of the aircrafts. It also identifies the various aircraft model(s) that will fly following a flight schedule. As multiple flight codes are clubbed under the same flight schedule, different models can fly in each of the schedule depending on the load and ground facility. Each flight schedule has an effective date range during which it remains valid. Airlines undertake journeys on certain weekdays as indicated in a flight schedule.
For every flight, you can identify the source and destination station, scheduled time of journey, alternate stations and the expected arrival time if the flight is forced to land in the alternate station. You can also identify the aircraft model that may undertake the journey as defined by a flight code.
